Egerton Rothesay School
Prep and Senior School Provision (Years 5-11)
In addition to its Main School (Y5-Y11) the school operates additional specialist centres called Springboard and Rainbow.Rainbow (Speech and Language Centre)
This
consists of two classes for children aged 4 – 10 years who due to
speech, language and/or communication disorders (SLCD) are unable to
benefit from full time placement in mainstream classes.
Each
Rainbow class is staffed by an experienced teacher, and an experienced
learning support assistant (LSA). The specialist speech and language
therapist, who is also a qualified teacher, divides her time between
the two classes. Rainbow staff can also draw on the expertise of the
senior school’s specialist staff.

Springboard
This is for children aged 5-9 who are too young for the core ERS structure but who would particularly benefit from early intervention. Teaching within Springboard can address individual needs such as dyslexia or dyspraxia or simply help the child for whom school has previously been a problem. Teaching is very individual and is focused on the child.
The children in Springboard are of varying abilities all of whom can benefit from our caring ethos and small classes, where they get the attention and support they need to help with their difficulties. Children flourish when they regain their confidence and begin to enjoy learning – often for the first time.
Transfer
Both Springboard and Rainbow classes are designed for children who need additional support and who will move on to the main School, therefore benefiting from our whole school approach and continuity of education
